the German school system

Hi. Recently some people asked me what time school ends in my school and there were people who didn't understand why lessons finish differently on different days. That's why I thought of creating this topic where you can ask questions about it.
Basically I would like to say that, the time your lessons finish each day depends on your time table, there is no time fixed when all lessons finish. So, some people can have 11 lessons sometimes, or they can have six lessons, then maybe two free lessons and the nineth and tenth lesson again. Even though at this time mostly sports or voluntary activities are made.
Class starts at 8, very early, but if a teacher is missing, you may have the first and second lesson off. If you are under 18, you have to be at school by the beginning of the second lesson, no matter if you have it off or not. If you are 18 and older however, you have a big advantage. You can stay in your boarding group (which is not on campus in my school by the way) and sleep longer.
Right guys and if you like to know more, then just ask here!!! I'm glad toanswer it. The German system is strange enough *smiles*.
